Following on from the sell-out run of their offbeat cultural satire *Symposium*, the JINX are back to adorn the season with nostalgic gags and trademark surreality. This year, they’re taking over the historic Longfield Hall in suburban Camberwell for a VERY special night of festive chaos.
This familiar holiday journey sees our lonely antihero served a totally new vibe as the Ghosts of Christmas Yas, Present and Future unveil it before his very eyes. Littering stark 1880 something Victorian England, with the garish overflows from the post-Millennium. The JINX swish X-mas Wonder with lurid chaos, tinted by lowbrow telly’s cozy hues. Falling somewhere between a 1970s “happening”, installation and true festive performance, this is a populist neo-classic. It’s not one to miss.
Expect parodic live music stylings with flamboyant visuals, while sleighing through the Lollipop Kingdom to find Festive Love. Indulge in the X-Mas madness & tinfoil paraphernalia —did Dame Marley always merrily puff-away in a cloud of vape?
The JiNX is a pop-art performance troupe and current artists in residence at Goldsmiths University. This performance is brought together with Set Design from Tom Palastre, Flow Bracey (Conditions Studio Programme) and Rowan Bazley (Turps Studio Programme), Costumes & Props from Scott Thomas (Fabric Floor, Assemble Network), and more.
