๐ฅ๐ฅ La Perla was formed in 2014. The three Bogotanas traveled through rural regions of Colombia and the Caribbean to study the musical languages of bullerengue, cumbia, merengue, gaita, and Creole champeta, learning them at their roots and weaving them into their own songs.
๐ฅ๐ฅTheir lyrics highlight social concerns, denouncing political corruption, racial injustice, and gender discrimination. Their debut EP Paren La Bulla (2017) and the inclusion of the track Bruja in Netflixโs Siempre Bruja brought them international attention and touring opportunities across the Americas and Europe, where they were met with great success. โจ
