About this Event

As part of the 30th Annual Barbara Jordan National Forum, we are honored to host a private screening of The Inquisitor, directed by acclaimed filmmaker Angela Tucker. This special event invites guests into a powerful cinematic experience that interrogates justice, accountability, and the moral courage required to challenge systems of power—values that sit at the very heart of Barbara Jordan’s life and legacy.

Following the screening, Director Angela Tucker will join Iliana Sosa, an award-winning director and professor in the Moody School of Communication at The University of Texas at Austin, for an intimate fireside chat exploring the impact of film on policy, public narrative, and civic engagement. Together, they will examine how storytelling functions as a force for cultural and political change, and how visual media can shape public understanding of leadership, justice, and accountability.

The conversation will also reflect on the life and legacy of Barbara Jordan, drawing connections between her unwavering commitment to integrity in public service and the role of film in preserving, interrogating, and advancing democratic values. This private screening and dialogue offer a meaningful opportunity to engage film not only as art, but as a powerful tool for advocacy and social transformation—honoring three decades of the Barbara Jordan National Forum’s mission to inspire courageous leadership at the intersection of culture, policy, and public service.

Location will be DMC 2.106- Moody Auditorium
