The importance of critical thinking.

We are living in the Information Age. Screens are all around us and it is becoming harder and harder to tell truth from lies. Where there used to be journalists who would fact check for us. The internet has allowed everyone to freely publish information for everyone to read. And while this is a good thing, a critical mind is more important than ever. But why exactly? Why is it so important for us to think critically about the things we see, read, and hear? And how exactly do we go about that?

Prof. Dr. Michael Vlerick will teach us about the importance of better thinking and will tell us about the most important reasoning errors to arm us against misinformation in this inspiring evening lecture.

Prof. Dr. Vlerick is no stranger to the school. He is an assistant professor of Philosophy of Science at Tilburg University where he applies evolutionary theory to key philosophical domains. He has written four books on the topic who have all been well-received by the public, just like his previous lectures at the progress club.
