Jennifer Veldkamp

Jennifer is a skilled cosmetic chemist with over 12 years of experience in the industry. Most of her career background comes from being a part of the R&D team in contract manufacturing. Most recently holding the position of Director of Innovation where she worked with several brands of all sizes, formulated multiple product formats, and interacted with various suppliers for packaging and raw materials. Currently, Jennifer is the Technical Development Manager at Ross Organic, an Azelis Company where she uses her extensive knowledge of the industry to assist customers, suppliers, and team members. She is also pursuing her Masters in Cosmetic Science through the University of Cincinnati.

Rita Cabrera

Rita Cabrera is a Cosmetic Scientist and the Director of R&D at Coola, bringing 16 years of industry expertise to her role. She started her R&D career at a contract manufacturer focused on mass market suncare and aerosol bag-on-valve systems. Over time, Rita advanced to leadership positions at specialized contract development and manufacturing organizations, concentrating on effective skincare solutions. At Coola, Rita uses her scientific acumen and extensive industry background to craft suncare products that not only improve skin health but also foster overall well-being. She is committed to delivering high-quality, effective, and environmentally conscious suncare solutions. Rita is driven by a passion for creating products that make a positive impact on people's daily lives. She enjoys applying scientific methods creatively to solve problems and is intrigued by the diverse range of interdisciplinary sciences that shape the industry.

Simone Swafford

Dr. Simone Swafford is the CEO and Founder of Vogue Regulatory, LLC. Before establishing Vogue Regulatory, Dr. Swafford worked for small to large-sized companies in the beauty, personal care, consumer healthcare and dietary supplement industries, and has over 18 years of experience in U.S. and international regulations. She earned both her master’s degree and the only one of its kind, doctorate in Regulatory Science from the University of Southern California. Dr. Swafford has given the cosmetics lecture in the Introduction to Medical Product Regulations course at USC and has also written the Cosmetics chapter in the USC regulatory textbook, “An Overview of FDA Regulated Products: From Drugs and Cosmetics to Food and Tobacco”.
