Welcome to The Homo Sargassum Opening Exhibition at the Florida State University Museum Of Fine Arts!

To mark the opening of the Homo Sargassum exhibition at FSU’s Museum Of Fine Arts, and in collaboration with MOFA & the Tout-Monde Art Foundation, this symposium brings together Artists, Scientists, and Humanities Scholars to explore the phenomenon of sargassum in the Circum~Caribbean and the ways in which a broad range of artists have engaged with it in their work.

Confirmed Speakers, Artists, and Performers include: Louisa Marajo, Sarra Gaspard, Florence Ménez, Billy Gerard Frank, Chris Cyrille, Moses Maerz, Morel Doucet, Caecilia Tripp, and Jean-Baptiste Herné.
