The Home We Build Together
The Home We Build Together
Our homes aspire to be so many things: a warm physical structure, a place of comfort, an educational space for children, a welcome table for guests. Unlike our professional lives – where we have received education, training, and mentorship – building a home is something we often do without sufficient reflection. It is a task that is sacred, joyous, and daunting.
So, how do we build the home we seek? Join the JCC East Bay to learn together from Jewish texts and values, discuess and think what does it mean to us and how does that help us as we build our own home.
Sessions will be facilitated by Yafit Shriki Megidish, Senior Director of Jewish Learning in partnership with Iyun.
We will meet once a month on Thursdays from 4:00-5:30pm:
January 16 - Reconfirming and reconstituting our parents’ reality
February 13 - What makes a home?
March 6 - What do we want the next generation to learn?
April 10 - The seder
May 8 - The rebellious child or Sex, love, and romance
May 29 - Shalom bayit
Cost:
Single session: $12
6 sessions: $60
