The Holiday Channel Christmas Movie Marathon: A Heartwarming Comedy Takes the Stageat the LSPU Hall
St. John’s Players is thrilled to announce its upcoming production of The Holiday Channel Christmas Movie Marathon, a delightful and hilarious play by acclaimed playwright Don Zolidis. Audiences are invited to experience a festive spoof of their favourite made-for-TV holiday movies, running from Thursday, December 4, 2025, to Saturday, December 6, 2025 at the LSPU Hall, just in time to kick off the holiday season with laughter and warmth.
About the Play
The Holiday Channel Christmas Movie Marathon is a comedic love letter to the heartwarming – and sometimes hilariously predictable – world of holiday romance films. Set in the charming lobby of the small-town Wood Pine Inn, the play follows a series of quirky characters as they tumble through a snowstorm of chance encounters, unlikely romances, and plenty of Christmas spirit. With witty dialogue, lovable archetypes, and a dash of self-aware humour, Don Zolidis’s script offers the perfect recipe for seasonal entertainment that will resonate with audiences of all ages.
A Festive Treat for All
Director Louise Karley shares, “This play is a joyful celebration of the holiday traditions we all know and love – and maybe poke a little fun at! It’s full of heart, laughter, and the magical feeling that anything is possible at Christmas.” The ensemble cast brings to life a series of overlapping stories inspired by the genre’s classic tropes: city folks returning home, rekindled old flames, mistaken identities, and, of course, the magic of snow on Christmas Eve.
