In 2024-2025, we're celebrating the 20th Anniversary of the Keelboat, Virginia Discovery! Built by schoolchildren and adults in our community, the Keelboat has provided educational opportunities for thousands of elementary school children across the Commonwealth and beyond. Through this presentation and mini-tour, we would like to delve into the history of the original Keelboat, which began in Pittsburgh, a boat-building city in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. From there we'll take you down the Ohio, up the Mississippi, and on to the confluence of the Mississippi with the Missouri. Join us for a special look at journals, landmarks, and river travel. Proceeds from the presentation will go towards our Keelboat educational programs and our Keelboat Restoration Fund.
