The history of one of St Helens most loved buildings, The Citadel Theatre. What was it before? What has it been? The takeover of the Salvation Army, the history of homelessness in St Helens, the lives of the vagrants that used it. What was it like to stay here in the times it was a hostel? When did it become The Citadel, who has played, raved and worked here? Does it really have ghosts? We will cover the lot.The Refugees, the Riots and the Ravers.
This is a one-off talk at a very special place. To stand on the stage of the Citadel has been a dream for many years, so I am inviting you all to come and join me for a night out to celebrate my birthday with me. So many people have said they have still never been inside, so now is your chance to come and have a look inside, find out the history and enjoy a good night out.
Please be mindful when booking seats, if you have a disability or are unsteady on your feet, please book downstairs seating. If you can climb stairs easily, to book upstairs if you could, so everyone is able to come.
I know many people are on a fixed income, so ticket sales will be staggered out over the coming months so you can put a little aside each month.
See you there, afterparty at The Tipsy Tap on Ormskirk St afterwards of anyone wants to join us. Doors of The Citadel will open at 5pm, full bar will be open.
