Dr Hes will share historical stories of Newport Lakes, using evidence from the State Records Office, research at NSW, Victorian and National Libraries and anecdotes of those involved in the 1970's and the fight to save the lakes. Dr Hes is Chair of the Board of Greenfleet, M.AIRAH, M.AICD, GIA(A)
Dr Lorraine Harrison, a committee member of Friends of Newport Inc (FoNL) will speak on the early development of FoNL and its progress to, and including 2024. She will share some of their achievements over many years and talk about their core work, that is the monthly working bees. Lorraine was the President of FoNL for approximately 12/14 years and all up have been involved for 20 years.
