About this Event

The High Injury Network (an "LA Transit" poetry workshop)

DSTL Arts invites you to join us for a (short) walking tour and poetry workshop examining the various causes of the "High Injury Network" on our streets, particularly at the intersection of S. Broadway and W. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd where we will take a moment to honor cyclists and pedestrians who have been victims of vehicle collisions.

This workshop will be led by poet/artist Rebecca (Roots) Gonzalez, and with her help, you will be inspired to write poetry reflecting on the potential you see for improving transit safety on our streets.

Space is limited; RSVP now!

As part of our 2023–2024 Creative Impact workshop series, this session encourages all participants to consider the history and impact of our local transit systems, urban planning, climate change, and more while creating new works of art that will inspire our fellow community members and leaders to be proactive in increasing public transit rider safety, reducing pollution, and cleaner, safer neighborhoods for all.

To learn more about our “LA Transit” workshop series and anthology, visit https://DSTLArts.org/creativeimpact.

This workshop is provided, in part, with the support of the CA Arts Council, City of LA–Department of Cultural Affairs, Arts Council of Long Beach, and the generosity of donors like you.
