About this Event
The Helltones are a Surf-Soul-Rock n Roll five-piece based in Oakland California. Founded in 2016 by frontman Darwin Siegaldoud, the band now features Cairo McCockran on drums, Victoria Sepe on organ, Shane Lawton on bass, and Kristin McReddie singing backup. The band is an indiscriminate celebration of a wide swath of retro music and culture, taking cues from garage rock, motown, surf, and blues.
Phantoms Forever is an alternative sludge rock band from Oakland California that formed in 2023, with an urge to become a part of the mythical East Bay music scene they grew up admiring. They incorporate a blend of old school hard rock, punk, and grunge, with a modern upbeat rhythm that always tries to keep it heavy. The band’s vision has been to rejuvenate the underground “alternative” genres of the early 90s that the band was not around to experience for themselves. They are committed to providing heavy hitting riffs, punk energy, melodic shoegaze harmonies, and piledriving walls of sound. Phantoms Forever consists of Nick on guitar and vocals, Efrain on drums, and Lino on bass.
"CVCC blends power pop hooks reminiscent of The Raspberries or Cheap Trick with a neurodivergent stare into the void. CVCC began as a lo-fi psych-pop project after releasing their debut self-titled EP — think King Tubby finding ZZ Top’s “Afterburner” cassette after it’s been sun-warped on a dashboard and running it through his signature textures of delay.
Then followed by the hook-ridden “Bardo Youth” single as well as the late-era Replacements sounding “Ivy Hill” EP. With an album on the way, the line-up featuring Mack Narragan, Ben Frisbey, and Michael Minninger, featuring drummer Connor Koreski (Slumped, Paper Dolls) offers an ever-unfolding barrage of weird pop for the strangest listeners."
