About the Programme/Event

Phyllis Wong’s Home Without Walls is one of the stories featured in the anthology Singapore At Home: Life Across Lines. Set during COVID-19, we are taken through Mei Chan’s thoughts and memories of her time growing up in old Singapore. Her solitary life, coupled with pandemic restrictions, only intensifies her loneliness. As she reminisces, she slowly makes peace with her situation and comes to realise that home and family are not necessarily contained within four walls.
Hear from Phyllis Wong as she shares more about her writing and inspiration behind this sobering piece.
You may download a copy of her story at this link: https://go.gov.sg/kxxv8u
Phyllis is an accountant, medical social worker, and now, writer. Phyllis Wong has a fascinating mix of professional experience, but she has ultimately gone on to do what she enjoys most – writing!
