The Heart of the Dance
When we have spent time dancing the Waves level of the 5Rhythms® finding ground, remembering centre & navigating our own sense of physical connection, we cultivate embodied capacity to begin exploring the heartbeat map of these rhythms. The Waves practice gives us a physical movement language through which we can then also explore the physical nature of our own moving hearts and begin to explore being moved in the ongoing dance of what we call emotions.
In this workshop we will expand our physical practice with the possibility to embody more heart, moving through the parts of our own hearts that may feel a little stuck or blocked. We give space to feel more and welcome all that we feel. The 5Rhythms® Heartbeat map gives us a container and a space to dance with our hearts.

About Hannah
Hannah is a certified Waves & Heartbeat 5Rhythms® completing her training with Gabrielle Roth in the US in 2008. She has been lucky enough to teach, learn, facilitate, absorb, and create on three different continents with workshops, social projects, community programmes, theatre and festival performances and artistic residencies ranging from Edinburgh, London, Oslo, Denmark, Norway, New York and Colorado to her home continent of Africa.
She is based in a small hamlet in South Africa called Vermaaklikheid where she is focused on growing 5Rhythms® dance with the local children.

What is 5Rhythms® Dance Practice:
The 5Rhythms® is a dance practice developed by Gabrielle Roth® in the early 70's in the USA. The 'movement map' takes the dancer through 5 dynamic rhythms: Flowing, Staccato, Chaos, Lyrical and Stillness. Like all improvising practices it welcome every body. All ages, sizes & physical abilities are welcome. There are no steps to follow, no choreography to learn, no way to do it wrong. The only requirement is a body that is still breathing, a heart that is still beating, and mind that is still curious! Just like light, sound or ocean waves, a dancing body when moving freely passes through rhythmic patterns. These patterns continuously repeat themselves in a wave of motion. This is a place for freedom of creative enquiry and expression through the repetition of a dance practice.

Full Price: 220 €

For 5Rhythms® teachers: 120 €
Payments can only be made in Euros.
Prerequisites: recommended to have
participated in 5Rhythms® Class with a 5RTA accredited teacher.
This workshop counts as 2.5 days of Heartbeat towards the 5Rhythms® Teacher Training.
The workshop will be held in English.
