Celebrate Halloween at Bookstore1 with children's author Steve Patschke and his brand-new picture book, THE HAUNTED SCAVENGER HUNT! This interactive, spooky-fun storytime designed for children ages 4-8 brings the holiday to life through storytelling, movement, and hands-on creativity.
Kids will join Steve on a playful "haunted scavenger hunt," help solve clues, and enjoy coloring activities inspired by the book. After the reading, families are invited to meet Steve, get books signed, and snap festive photos.
ABOUT THE BOOK
When four friends find a mysterious box with the message “Don’t look at it, don’t touch it, don’t open it!”, they decide that they have to know what’s inside. And so they end up on a haunted Halloween scavenger hunt that leads them to the basement of a spooky house. But one by one, a friend slips away as the group gets closer to discovering the mystery behind the clues. Will they be able to reach the surprise at the end? This humorous Halloween page-turning story begs to be read aloud again and again.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
STEVE PATSCHKE is a children's author based in Woodstock, NY, and Sarasota, FL. With over 30 years as a children's librarian and elementary school teacher in New York State, he's a passionate advocate for young readers. Mentored by Mike Thaler (THE TEACHER FROM THE BLACK LAGOON), he holds a B.A. in English and a M.S. in Library Science. He is the author of three picture books published by major houses, including his latest, THE HAUNTED SCAVENGER HUNT.
