Gather ‘round the hearth at Tea & Tarot for an evening where shadows dance and stories come to life. Your wicked hosts, Anna and Kaza, will guide you through a night of whispered legends, eerie folktales, and ghostly encounters. All told from the warmth of our candlelit tea parlor. Guests will be served seasonal tea blends and invited to share in conversation between tales, with light refreshments provided to keep your spirits high.During autumn’s twilight, Samhain and All Hallows’ Eve, it was common for people to share tales as a way to honor ancestors, ward off malevolent spirits, and prepare for the long darkness of winter. Our Haunted Hearth continues this sacred tradition, preserving the art of storytelling as a way to stir the imagination and connect with the mysteries beyond the veil.
To keep things safely enchanted, our evening will begin with a protective ceremony led by your hosts, weaving intention and magick to shield our circle from any mischievous or unwanted energy. Come dressed in your coziest attire, ready to sip tea, delight in dark tales, and warm your soul by the firelight of shared story. Space is limited, reserve your spot, and prepare to be frightened!
About Your Hosts: Anna has had a passion for history her entire life! She was lucky enough to attend Civil War reenactments as a child, have a genealogist for a grandfather, and spent her free time reading Dear America and the American Girl books. Not surprisingly, Anna selected a women’s college founded on the grounds of a nineteenth century plantation where she could study the enslaved community’s stories. She graduated from Sweet Briar College Magna Cum Laude and as a member of Phi Beta Kappa. Naturally, her major was History, she was a candidate for licensure in Social Studies Education, and earned an Arts Management Certificate (with a focus in Museum Studies). She holds a Master of Arts in Teaching, also from Sweet Briar College in Virginia.
Since 2012, Anna has taught at Fairfield Ludlowe High School and holds a Professional Educator Certification for History and Social Studies. She is an authorized College Board Advanced Placement Instructor for A.P. U.S. History. Further, she is an Early College Experience Instructor through the University of Connecticut. Her two courses are United States History to 1877 and United States History since 1877. She currently volunteers with the Town Historian’s Office in her adopted hometown of Stratford.
