Inspired by the Bosch Parade in the Netherlands (a tipping of the hat to artist Hieronymus Bosch), The Hague Parade is a love letter to the water in the form of creative expression, collaboration, and community. The floating art parade hopes to inspire wonder and celebrate our waterways. We speak on the fear surrounding sea-level rise and our city’s flooding, but what if we were “to be like water”? To be fluid and reach a state of acceptance? To dream and play and create with the water rather than against it?
The Hague Parade is a beautiful dance between the arts and the sciences which will culminate at the once Norfolk Museum of Arts and Sciences, now The Chrysler Museum of Art.
Bring a chair, a beach towel, and watch this free whimsical spectacle as we begin near the intersection of Mill St. and Mowbray Arch and end at the Chrysler Museum of Art.
