Come and join us on the third Monday of each month for this free event. This is an opportunity to chat about a different book, chosen by your host, every month, with fellow book lovers.
This month's Grove Book Club will take place on Monday 19th January at 7.30pm at The Grove Bookshop in Ilkley. Our address is 10 The Grove, Ilkley, LS29 9EG. You can call us on 01943 609335 or send an email to [email protected]. January is a special event as we have Malachi Whitaker expert Val Waterhouse joining us to discuss And So Did I.
Each month we will meet to talk about the book, which you will be able to purchase at the previous meeting, with a 10% discount. There will be a free glass of wine available for all attendees. Your host, Nikki, will come prepared with questions to prompt the group discussion and will be open to suggestions for future book choices. It will be a laid back, friendly group, and we fully understand if people haven't been able to complete the book in the intervening month - but to help this, book choices won't be super long!
If you miss the group, you will be able to buy the book from the shop in the following weeks with the discount. Although this is a free event, places need to be reserved every month.
This first meeting will give us an opportunity to chat about our expectations from the group, get to know each other a bit and to buy the first book.
Nikki has worked at The Grove Bookshop for nearly eight years. She enjoys reading a wide range of books but has a particular knowledge of literary fiction. She is a trained journalist and copy editor. She is also an actress at Ilkley Playhouse and a mother to two young daughters.
