Dear dancers,It is such a delight to be offering in this venue, and with you all again, this 5Rhythms extended class.
To those who are new to this practice, the 5Rhythms is a dynamic movement meditation practice rooted in the principle that if you put the psyche in motion it will heal itself.
We move through an arc of energy, or a wave, through varying states of being we call Flowing, Staccato, Chaos, Lyrical, and Stillness. We move with what is here.

I will guide us, during this extended class, through a number of waves supported by music and there will be space to check in, write, and mark-make together.
We will be paying particular attention to the rhythm of Flowing.
The gateway to Flowing is through our feet; it is where we begin, it is the foundation from which all else is birthed. Flowing is the rhythm of the earth.
How do I drop into my feet and build trust in my foundation?
Remembering that I inhabit and live through a body.
Can I say yes to what is here?
What is it to root and anchor into fluid receptivity?
This is the groundwork.
The groundwork offers me a container, it offers me support and amidst the often ceaseless chaos , I practice returning to my feet. And there lies my freedom.
We will complete our wave dropping into a Sound bath together that I will guide, so please do bring a blanket or something warm to rest into after.

Stefanie-May is a Certified Accredited 5Rhythms®️teacher, Holistic Voice Therapist, Ceremonial singer and Musician, and Somatic Experiencing Practitioner; a body oriented approach to working with trauma. She has a background in Theatre and Acting, and is passionate about imbuing spaces and practices with ritual and ceremony awakening to the deepest seeds of remembering within us all.
