About this Event

Our meet-ups are an informal opportunity to meet other young people who are experiencing grief and bereavement. We provide a space for stories of love and loss to be shared, in a no-pressure environment. It’s that simple.

We're in our usual spot - The Sekforde but downstairs in their basement room!*

A few FAQs to note:

  • We are not a guided or structured support group, and do not provide professional advice or counselling.
  • Meet-ups are primarily for the bereaved (but please feel free to bring a support if you're nervous or need assistance) – we don’t offer professional guidance for those supporting others with grief. A lot of people attend alone, and there’s always a mix of new people and regulars.
  • We welcome any type of bereavement, at any stage in the grief process (including anticipatory grief). It’s all tough, it’s all valid, and we’re all here for it.
  • Meet-ups don’t have a strict start or finish time. Our team are usually around from 6.30pm, but you can come along at any time, grab a drink (or don't) and stay for as long or as short a while as you like.
  • We have no set definition of what constitutes a ‘young person’ – generally, people who come have experienced bereavement between their late teens and early thirties, but we have no hard cut off.
  • Grief can make us all a bit more vulnerable at times. We want to keep all of our attendees safe and comfortable, however we do not vet our attendees and this is an open event (rather than by invitation only). For this reason, please do be mindful about how much you want to share about yourself with others and if anyone/thing causes you to worry or makes you feel uncomfortable, please tell one of the team or email us as soon as possible if you’re not able to speak about it there and then.
  • Finally, we’re a member-led community: our team are all in the ‘Club’ and are dealing with our own bereavements. We’re happy to talk about our personal experiences, but kindly remember that this community is for us, too. Please bear in mind, if making suggestions, we’re doing our best.

See you there! ?

*We're looking for other pubs that could host us around London, to give East a break! If you know of anywhere that seems like it could be a good environment, in Central or South ideally, let us know :)
