About this Event
Learn how a collaboration between UCSF and Siemens helped reduce energy consumption and operational costs of Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Systems working towards the goal of providing the first carbon-neutral imaging service. Dr. Sean Woolen, Radiologist, Assistant Professor and Director of Green Radiology Initiative, UCSF, and Jerry Folsom, Director of Digital Services, Siemens Smart Infrastructure, will provide an overview of the project and share their findings.
Here's more: The University of California San Francisco (UCSF) and Siemens collaborated on a research project that explored how to reduce the consumption of energy used by MRIs. Operating MRIs from multiple vendors and collecting data in real time, this research uncovered interesting use patterns. This session will provide an overview of the project and considerations that may be made when designing and operating healthcare imaging facilities, as well as highlighting the framework of this project and lessons learned.
