About this Event
How can we design urban landscapes that create cool, leafy spaces and celebrate the Gold Coast’s subtropical character?
This seminar will explore principles and strategies from the City of Gold Coast’s recently released Private Development Landscape Guidelines. Join members of the LatStudios team as they discuss how the six key citywide design principles can be applied to encourage private landscapes that are responsive to context, resilient, contribute to vibrant neighbourhoods and reinforce subtropical character and local biodiversity.
Examples of well-designed projects from the Gold Coast and South-East Queensland will be drawn upon to illustrate the opportunities – and challenges – of accommodating successful landscaping. A range of private development typologies from dwelling houses to commercial developments will be shown to illustrate good outcomes
Key learning: Well-designed greenspaces deliver benefits to residents, boost business, and enhance city liveability
