About this Event
The Great Turning: The Call to Courage
Date: Sunday 2/2
Check-in: 9:30am
Begins: 10:00am
Ends: 4:00pm
So many of us these days are anxious and worried about the unfolding crisis of global warming and often we just want to forget about it and live life as if it did not exist. The climate crisis is a stack of crises – of environment, justice, politics, technology – but at its heart, it is a spiritual crisis that derives from the way that we humans have separated ourselves from Nature.
We all know that change can be uncomfortable. And because spiritual awakening involves a transformation of our very identity, it may be the most challenging form of change any of us will undergo in our lifetime. One of the reasons we meditating is to become more at ease and peaceful inside. So, the thought that our spiritual path is going to lead to greater discomfort is a bit unsettling.
How can we embrace this intensity of change, and the potential discomfort that comes with it? What does it take to be comfortable with the natural growing pains that accompany an evolutionary relationship to life?
