The Premise:
On April 23rd, 3060, Victor Steiner-Davion led elements of the reborn SLDF into the Strana Mechty system to call a Trial of Refusal against the invasion of the Inner Sphere. IlKhan Osis agreed to the proposal. However, the Warden clans led by the Ghose Bears claimed the trial was exclusive against the Crusader philosophy and their invasion. This led eight clans to abstain from the trial and Clan Nova Cat to fight on the side of the SLDF. Eight massive engagements were fought between the SLDF and Crusader forces. The final result was five victories for the SLDF, two for the Clans and one draw.
The goal is to emulate the feeling and vibe of the Great Refusal in a fun community-building day of Battletech, with drinks, food, and friends. Choose a side, Clan or Inner Sphere, and fight for the glory of your cause!
Tournament Organization:
The event will consist of three rounds.
Round #1 Matchups will be determined randomly,
Round #2 and Round #3 matchups will be determined by points scored thus far.
Therefore, those on the Inner Sphere and Clan sides will be paired against each other based on relative achievement, e.g., IS 1 vs. Clan 1, IS 2 vs. Clan 2, etc. The only exception to this rule will be avoiding duplicate opponents for Round #2 and Round #3 games.
Each round will consist of a single 3-hour game.
Players will build 3-5 forces following the detailed unit selection criteria in the unit selection section. They cannot use the same force for more than one scenario.
Note that players will play a maximum of three games, and units cannot be reused; therefore, it is only necessary to build three forces. However, the provision has been granted to submit a maximum of five forces for players who wish to build a force specialty for each scenario.
In each tournament round, the scores of all the Clan players and all the Inner Sphere players will be added, with one side declared the winner of each trial stage. Based on the players' results, the Great Refusal will be upheld or overturned at the end of the three rounds.
Each player-versus-player game is considered one of numerous simultaneous engagements that contribute to the result of each stage.
Therefore, scenarios do not have a winner and a loser; both players earn a number of points that are applied to their faction's score and are used to determine their opponent for the next round.
The goal of this event is to have fun and build community; it is not an ultra-competitive format, so players of all experiences are encouraged to participate.
Hope to see you all there.
