About this Event
The Great Peacemakers Art Exhibit includes 36 banners featuring historic agents of social change. Each banner consists of a reproduction of an oil painting created by Steve Simon and information regarding the subject's life and accomplishments. A 30-minute audio tour guides visitors through the exhibit. (Please bring a phone and earbuds.)
The collection is Simon's interpretation of the "bending of the arc of the moral universe towards justice." The arc's timeline begins with the American Revolutionary period and proceeds to the present.
The artist will present at the library on Friday, March 22 at 6:00 pm. Simon will discuss five aspects he found common to the biographies of the luminaries in the collection. He will focus on one of these aspects—the ingredients for a meaningful life and how we can gather these ingredients to enhance the meaning of our own lives.
