We are thrilled to welcome you to the sixth annual Great Lakes Carriage Classic (GLCC), a three-day format that has something for everyone. Weather is never an issue at The Ancaster Fairgrounds, with indoor warm-up ring, show arena and stabling, giving the perfect opportunity to show your equines. Campsites and RV hookups are available with onsite food available throughout the show.Friday is dedicated to Dressage and CDE Style Cones and the weekend days to Pleasure Classes. The first day will be run as a separate entity with points and an awards ceremony. NO points achieved in this portion of the show will be carried into the Pleasure section or used in determining trophy recipients. Throughout the show, a pleasure scoring format will be followed as per the published Pleasure guidelines. The divisions will remain unchanged with the Coach Assisted Division available to those who would like assistance in the show ring. Two Utility Divisions encourage participation in more utilitarian carriages. New in 2024 is a VSE High Point Trophy donated by Supreme Trophies of Ancaster.
Saturday is a favourite of all – The Carriage Parade – bringing a wide variety of vehicles into the arena with details of each turnout announced.
Sunday is an Equine Parade showcasing a variety of breeds in the sport
GLCC Social Events include the Friday night corn roast with an awards ceremony, Saturday night’s banquet and Sunday’s complementary box lunch with an awards presentation.
