“Community Engagement… whose role is it anyway?” ???♀️You are officially invited to QYP’s annual great debate!
❓WHAT IS THE GREAT DEBATE❓
QYP’s annual debate provides a platform for teams to argue relevant and timely industry topics. This year we have decided to debate on the responsibility of meaningful community engagement.
The teams of young and experienced planners will debate whether it is the public or private sector that should champion community engagement in development assessment. The debate will comprise two teams of three, bringing their diverse planning and development backgrounds to a head.

Public Sector team:
* Mr Ben Bragagnolo PIA (Assoc.), Urban Planner at Brisbane City Council
* Ms Olivia Scroope PIA (Assoc.), Planner at Meridian Urban
* Ms Marion Lawie, Managing Director at Vocatif Australia and Sessional Academic at Queensland University of Technology
Private Sector team:
* Ms Stephanie van der Jagt, Assistant Development Manager at Mirvac
* Dr Laurel Johnson MPIA, Senior Research Fellow at University of Queensland
* Ms Kate McClure MPIA, Principal (Engagement & Social Strategy) at Ethos Urban
