THE GRAND FINALE: BURNING THE ANCHOVY! FINAL DEL CARNAVAL DE MÁLAGA 🐟🔥
Fried fish, mourning parades, and a giant burning anchovy? Welcome to the unique finale of the Malaga Carnival! 🧐
This Sunday, February 15th, Malaga says goodbye to its Carnival with the traditional "Entierro del Boquerón" (The Burial of the Anchovy). The day starts at 12:00 PM at Plaza de la Constitución with the "Gran Boqueroná," where everyone can enjoy free fried anchovies—the symbol of our city—accompanied by the lively music of murgas and comparsas. Later, at 5:00 PM, the main parade begins: a giant anchovy is carried through the city center all the way to La Malagueta beach.
There, as the sun sets, the statue is burned during a spectacular fireworks show, marking the official end of the party and the start of Lent. If you want to experience the most authentic and "Malagueño" part of the festivities, this is the day you can't miss!

EL BROCHE DE ORO: EL ENTIERRO DEL BOQUERÓN EN MÁLAGA 🐟🔥
¿Pescaito frito, lutos de carnaval y un boquerón gigante en llamas? ¡Llega el gran final del Carnaval de Málaga! 🧐
Este domingo 15 de febrero, Málaga se despide de su fiesta más colorida con el tradicional "Entierro del Boquerón". La jornada arranca a las 12:00 en la Plaza de la Constitución con la "Gran Boqueroná", una degustación gratuita de boquerones fritos al ritmo de coplas, murgas y comparsas.
Por la tarde, a partir de las 17:00, el cortejo fúnebre más alegre del mundo recorrerá el centro hasta la playa de La Malagueta.
Allí, entre fuegos artificiales, se quemará la gran escultura del boquerón, simbolizando el fin del desenfreno y el inicio de la Cuaresma. Es una despedida única, llena de sabor y tradición malagueña que nadie debería perderse.
