About this Event
This event does not require registration.
From its cultural roots in the African American communities of New Orleans during the late 19th century, to the earliest use of the term in a 1912 article in the Los Angeles Times, jazz has become an American cultural icon. During this program, we will examine the historical roots of the musical style, with vintage performances by Duke Ellington, Cab Calloway, Louis Armstrong, Buddy Rich, Sammy Davis Jr. and many more.
This program is free and intended for teens and adults. No registration is required.
