This lecture is a special presentation done in collaboration with the Erie Canal Museum of Syracuse, NY in celebration of the Tinker Homestead & Farm Museum's 30th Anniversary, as well as the Erie Canal's 200th Anniversary.The Genesee Valley Canal was one of the more audacious canals constructed by New York State following the completion of the Erie Canal. Despite its relatively short lifespan and lack of financial success, it nonetheless had a transformative impact on the Genesee Valley.
