The Gay Agenda is Acadiana Queer Collective’s quarterly community gathering focused on connection, collaboration, and action. Each session brings together LGBTQ+ people, allies, organizers, professionals, and community members who care about building a safer, more visible, and more supported Acadiana. This is a space to share what we’re seeing, learn from one another, and move beyond conversation toward real, collective progress.
Why it matters:
Too often, important work happens in silos. The Gay Agenda exists to change that. By bringing people into the same room across lived experience, professions, and perspectives we create stronger networks, clearer pathways to support, and more sustainable ways to show up for our community. This gathering centers LGBTQ+ voices while welcoming anyone committed to equity, care, and meaningful change.
Each event focuses on a specific issue impacting our community and is designed to be accessible, intentional, and action-oriented. Expect facilitated discussion, opportunities to connect, and space to reflect on what’s working, what’s missing, and what we can do next - together.
What to expect:
A welcoming, structured-but-casual environment
Community conversation (panels, roundtables, or a mix of both)
Connection with people doing this work across Acadiana
Clear next steps and shared takeaways
Food and time to build relationships
Attendance is free, with donations encouraged to help sustain this programming.
👉 RSVP through our website to receive event details, updates, and any schedule or location information. RSVPs help us plan thoughtfully and keep you in the loop.
The Gay Agenda is about momentum, care, and collective action. If you believe in showing up for LGBTQIA+ people in Acadiana, this space is for you.
