The Garth (Part of the Glamorgan History Walks festival 2025)

The Glamorgan History Walks are an award winning series of guided walks to places of historical interest across the ancient county of Glamorgan. This walk takes you on a voyage of historical discovery in and around the village of Pentyrch.
This area is famous for its springs and wells. The Romans had thermal baths here in the 1st Century, St Cadoc established a church and holy well here in the 6th Century and the area has had spiritual significants since the Bronze Age.
We pass through the eerie ruins of a deserted 16th Century village hidden in an ancient woodland. We also get spectacular aerial views from up here of Cardiff and the whole of the Vale of Glamorgan to the south and the Taff Valley to the north. And the enigmatic Castell Coch.
