The Army Futures Command is headquartered in Austin, with over 2,600 personnel world worldwide working on modernization priorities. The AFC leads a continuous transformation of Army modernization in order to provide future war-fighters the concepts, capabilities and organizational structures they need to dominate a future battlefield. It integrates daily with entrepreneurs, scientists, academia and businesses to make the discoveries required to design and field the future military force of the 21st century.
LTG Ross Coffman has had a 30 year in the military, where has served at the tactical, operational and strategic levels in the United States and overseas. Previous to being selected as the deputy commanding general of the U.S. Army Futures Command, he has led Army efforts in Saudi Arabia, Bosnia, Europe, Haiti, Kuwait, Iraq and the U.S. LTG Coffman’s civilian education includes an MBA from Embry Riddle University and a graduate fellowship at Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government.
