Since the public release of ChatGPT in November 2022, companies have experienced an explosion in interest related to the use of artificial intelligence in the workplace. This program will discuss the latest in artificial intelligence applications employers may consider bringing into their businesses, the current and future areas of potential legal liability, and strategies to mitigate those compliance risks.
Participants will learn:
• What artificial intelligence is and its applications in human resources and business operations.
• Areas of potential liability under existing federal and state laws with agency guidance related to compliance with those laws.
• Latest developments in new federal, state, and local laws on the horizon to address areas of concern with artificial intelligence in the workplace.
Bio:
Jesse focuses on traditional labor relations under the National Labor Relations Act (NLRA) along with class and collective matters under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and state wage and hour laws. He has cost-effectively obtained successful judgments, decisions, and resolutions for his clients in a wide array of forums, including federal and state courts, arbitration proceedings, and administrative hearings before the Equal Rights Division.
Jesse also represents indigent parties in federal jury trials through the Eastern District of Wisconsin Pro Bono Program.
Jesse’s experience includes serving as chief negotiator in collective bargaining agreement negotiations, supporting clients to enforce collective bargaining agreement terms, and managing and counseling clients through organizing and decertification petition campaigns.
He has represented clients at hearings before the National Labor Relations Board and in arbitration proceedings. Jesse also defends clients against unfair labor practice charges, including in union and non-union settings.
Jesse is an experienced speaker and a recognized voice for labor and employment law. He regularly presents in-house and to organizations on workplace topics with audiences enjoying his upbeat, interactive, and entertaining style.
He has been quoted by CNN, Fortune, and other mainstream media services for his legal experience on issues related to the workplace.
Jesse is an active participant in legal and civic communities. He represents indigent parties in federal jury trials through the Eastern District of Wisconsin Pro Bono Program, is a fellow with the Wisconsin Law Foundation, and a former board member of the State Bar of Wisconsin’s Labor and Employment Law Section.
