Of late there's been a distinct lack of fun; we're here to rectify that problem. The songs sung by this fun force were composed of floating rivers, spelunking vacant mines, pub crawling sidewalks, and summoning a higher power in the presence of a campfire. Living in these modern times, one can always find constant reminders of the laws that protect us from danger, and also in some cases, fun. In that irony lies the birthplace of The Fun Police.
Checkered Record
Established in 2017, Checkered Record is a dynamic six-piece alternative ska ensemble hailing from the vibrant music scene of Seattle, Washington. Fusing elements of pop, ska, reggae, and rock, their diverse repertoire caters to a wide spectrum of musical tastes. Rooted in poignant messaging and delivered with infectious energy, the band adds a touch of tongue-in-cheek irreverence for a lighthearted atmosphere.
Comprising seasoned ska veterans formerly of The Longshots, and The Diablotones, Checkered Record boasts a distinctive sound that guarantees to get audiences onto the dance floor. From thought-provoking social commentary to toe-tapping sea shanties, Checkered Record crafts an uplifting and eclectic musical experience for all to enjoy.
Good On Toast
Good On Toast is a high-energy band playing ska and rocksteady music in the greater Seattle area. Their repertoire includes originals and covers of popular songs, as well as unexpected ska arrangements of non-ska songs. Their infectious rhythms and on-stage antics get an audience moving. Be prepared to dance!
