Expanding the drug target universe: Front Row lecture with Benjamin Cravatt, PhD
There are countless proteins that play a critical role in disease, yet they remain biologically impossible to target with therapeutics. In this free Front Row lecture, professor Benjamin Cravatt will explain how his large-scale protein profiling research and innovative technological approaches are helping identify novel therapeutic targets and drugs, notably those that have been previously deemed ‘undruggable.’ Cravatt’s translational work, which is at the intersection of chemistry and biology, has also led to the formation of multiple local biotechnology companies that are developing first-in-class candidate medicines for diverse diseases range from cancer to neurological disorders.
