The Freaks Came Out to Greenwich Village: Writing and Singing about the Countercultural Capital of the World.
P&T Knitwear is pleased to welcome Tricia Romano to celebrate the paperback release of her book,: a rollicking history of America's most iconic weekly newspaper told through the voices of its legendary writers, editors, and photographers.
Tricia will be in conversation with David Browne, author of : the definitive history of the rise and heyday of the revolutionary Greenwich Village music scene, based on new research and first-hand interviews with many of its legendary performers.
About the Authors:
Tricia Romano began her career at the Village Voice, where her column, Fly Life, covered the underbelly of New York nightlife. A fellow at MacDowell, Ucross, and Millay artist residencies, her work has been published in The New York Times, The Washington Post, Rolling Stone, The Daily Beast, Dame, and Men’s Journal. A longtime New Yorker, she lives in Seattle, Washington.
David Browne is a senior writer at Rolling Stone and the author of Fire and Rain and biographies of Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young; the Grateful Dead; Sonic Youth; and Jeff and Tim Buckley. He lives in Manhattan.
