In The Four Elements, ancient ideas meet modern resonance, with music that speaks to the fragility of our planet, the mystery of breath, the intensity of flame, and the stillness of deep water. This one-of-a-kind performance gathers some of the finest professional choral singers from both sides of the Atlantic, in a powerful musical convergence of world-class vocal talent.

Ensemble Altera delivers sound with breathtaking clarity, emotional immediacy, and an obsessive attention to vocal detail. Artistic director Christopher Lowrey is, as Rondo Magazine put it, a “vocal fanatic” who “knows exactly what he wants" from his singers. Program highlights include music by John Taverner, Eric Whitacre, Kenneth Leighton, Morten Lauridsen, Ivo Antognini, Owain Park, John Rutter, Ēriks Ešenvalds, and Charles Villiers Stanford.
The concert takes place at the stunning Church of the Redeemer in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts, a space renowned for its luminous acoustic and peaceful elegance. Parking is available on-site, in the lot off of Suffolk Road, as well as nearby neighborhood street parking, and the church is conveniently located on the Green Line (D Branch) for public transport access.
Level A Tickets: $60, seated closest to the choir.
Level B Tickets: $40, seated in the middle of the church.
Level C Tickets: $20, seated near the rear of the church.
