The Foundations of Backbends

Backbends are beautiful postures that can offer a deep exploration of the nervous system. Often, backbending can feel daunting and brings with it a surge of emotion. But with understanding, control and trust, backbends can be a wonderful way to connect to yourself and your body on a deeper level.
Within this workshop, Jess will teach you the foundational elements of safe backbending.
Expect a flow to begin with to warm and integrate the body and then we'll workshop postures such as camel, bow, dancer and king pigeon plus more!

About Jess

Jess began practising yoga in California, embedding it into her daily life upon realising the many physical and mental benefits. As a musician, Jess found that flowing, especially to music, was a valuable and expressive tool that could alter mood and energy levels, whilst also strengthening and releasing tension from the body.

Now a 200hr registered yoga teacher, Jess’ classes are influenced by Vinyasa and Ashtanga practices while also embedding yin and restorative styles. Jess offers modifications and variations throughout her classes to make them accessible to all, builds awareness of the mind body connection and in turn, enables everyone, to feel the many benefits of a holistic yoga practice.
