Let's celebrate friendship on National Public Lands Day! The Friendship Tower is a symbol of Seth Bullock and Theodore Roosevelt's relationship and the lasting impact it had on Black Hills National Forest. Taking inspiration from Bullock and Roosevelt, hikers will explore symbiotic relationships in nature — how different species coexist, warn each other of danger, and support one another to thrive in the Black Hills. We will meet at the Mount Roosevelt Picnic Area and explore the forest along the trail to the Mount Roosevelt Friendship Tower.
This event is made possible through the partnership of Black Hills Parks and Forests Association and the US Forest Service of the Black Hills.
