About this Event
Bring your curiosity, a journal, and some cozy layers on this special plant walk through Prospect Park! If you are interested in learning more about the plants growing around us, and are interested in folklore, history, or plant medicines, this whimsical and educational walk is for you! We will offer herbal tea prepared from locally foraged plants, we will share folklore, stories, legends, and traditional uses of the plants, and we will help you learn how to properly identify the plants in the park. Come ready to learn, sip tea, and enjoy a beautiful stroll through the park, and leave with a new perspective of the plants around you!
ARRIVAL: We will meet at 1PM at the Prospect Park Boathouse on the steps looking out at the pond. Please arrive on time or 15 minutes before if you can. We will wait a few minutes before we begin walking as it is best we begin the walk together. If you are running late, please contact your guide Serena by email at [email protected] or message our instagram @serenelandscapes.ny
WHAT TO BRING: Please check the weather ahead of time so you are dressed in the proper layers for this outdoor event! Make sure to wear shoes you are comfortable walking in and getting dirty. We strongly recommend bringing a journal with you to take notes and to press plants for helping with your plant identification. We also suggest bringing water with you and a snack if you would like.
CANCELLATION: In case of extreme or super gloomy weather, we will cancel & reschedule.
This event is free! Donations are not required and are only open if you would like to donate.
