More on the Artists:
Jenny & James with Neil Harvey (Blacksmith)
Cape Town folk duo Jenny & James are joined by Neil Harvey, co-founder of long-running acoustic folk band Blacksmith, for a rare and special collaboration at Alma Café.
Jenny & James have been performing together for over a decade, blending original songwriting with Celtic tunes that move effortlessly between heartfelt storytelling and lively, foot-tapping reels. Their music has taken them across South Africa and abroad, including performances in Scotland and the Netherlands, as well as appearances at major folk festivals.
Neil Harvey brings decades of experience from Blacksmith, a band that began in the early 1970s and became known for its pure acoustic sound and wide-ranging repertoire spanning bluegrass, country, gospel, and Irish and Scottish traditional music. His deep musical roots and love of harmony add a rich new layer to this collaboration.
Together, they’ll share an evening of three-part harmonies, traditional songs, well-loved folk covers, instrumentals, and a cappella moments - relaxed, joyful, and rooted in a shared love of acoustic music. A collaboration that doesn’t happen often, and one not to be missed.
