Past the shore, below the surface, within "The Flood" lies Joanna. She beckons for you to join her.
"The Flood" is a multifaceted play that follows the pursuit of memory through the young eyes and ears of Joanna. We learn, through a dream-like lens, the events that transpired before and after her parents' divorce, and how the relationships between her cousin Lily, her mother Harriet, and her father Jonathan unsettle and change her very being. As an unreliable narrator, "The Flood" allows Joanna to express her uncertainty as a young person, and how the loss of friendship and parental guidance has resulted in her feeling as though she is drowning on dry land.
**CONTENT WARNING: Themes of domestic violence, emotional abuse, and coarse language.
**ADVISORY: Please be aware flashing lights and sudden loud noises are present throughout the performance. Patrons who may suffer from epilepsy or other visual light stimulation are advised to speak to Front of House staff before the performance commences.
