Explore Learning are proud to sponsor The Summer Reading Challenge Library Zone for 2024. We are delighted to be able to offer this FREE workshop centred around this year's Summer Reading Challenge theme, ‘Marvellous Makers’
‘The Festival Challenge’ has been designed by Explore Learning’s expert curriculum developers for children aged 5-11. Hosted by members of our professional tutor teams, this workshop will have participants engaged in a fun-filled story in which they will be required to overcome challenges put before them which will put the joy into learning.
Children will undertake a quest to find ‘The Grand Festival’s’ prized trophy. ‘The Grand Festival’ cannot proceed without the prized trophy, and we need help to locate it!. By overcoming maths and English challenges, children will develop skills such as teamwork, critical thinking, problem solving, and many more! About the Summer Reading Challenge:
‘The Summer Reading Challenge is the UK’s biggest reading for pleasure programme for children, presented by The Reading Agency and delivered in partnership with libraries. The Challenge encourages children aged 4-11 to keep reading during the school summer holidays. They set a reading goal and can read anything they enjoy!
The Challenge reaches around 700,000 children each year, and 75% of children taking part last year improved their reading skills over the holidays. Visit your local library to find out more, or head to summerreadingchallenge.org.uk

This workshop has been created for children aged 5-11.

No. Since 2001, Explore Learning has worked with thousands of schools and community groups to bring learning to life through FREE engaging workshops.
Will there be any follow-up resources or materials provided after the workshop for further learning?
Yes! We will have resources to give away for participants. As well as this, we have a variety of FREE digital resources available on our website!
Can my child attend multiple workshop dates?
Each workshop will be covering the same activities and story, therefore we recommend that you only attend one of the available workshops.
