Yi-Bing Chu was a professor at Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Dance de Paris. He is the first professor of Chinese nationality since the establishment of thisfamous institution in 1795. Last pupil of the legendary French master cellistMaurice Gendron, Chu was the first Chinese cellist ever to win a prize in amajor international Cello competition. He served as principal cellist in BaselSymphony Orchestra, Switzerland between 1989-2004, Yi-Bing Chu was also guestprincipal cellist of Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra in Munich, Germany.

The two classical cello concerts will have completely different repertoire! Ms. Xiao Dong, a piano and cello artist, and Ms. Julia S. Carey, a senior pianist, will serve as the piano accompanists respectively. The concert repertoire is gorgeous, exquisite and exciting. There are not only beautiful classic works by composers such as Bach, Caccini, Rachmaninov, and Paganini, but also famous and difficult sonatas by composers such as Debussy and Franck.

Such a rare music feast is not to be missed! See you on May 18th and 19th!
