Join us for a free outdoor community celebration of creativity and imagination!
The Fantastical Walk is a procession of colorful creatures created by locals like you!
3D Art will be worn, pulled, or carried by their makers from City Hall Courtyard to the Great Lawn during the GreenMarket.
Be a part of something truly magical!
How To Participate:
Join us by attending one or more hands-on workshops offered, leading up to this event, to create a fantastical creature with the guidance of a professional artist. Click here to view workshop dates.
Then sign up on this page to be part of the culminating event - The Fantastical Walk - a procession from City Hall Courtyard to the Great Lawn during the WPB GreenMarket. Pre-registration is required.
What to Expect:
- Fantastical creatures will be made primarily of recyclables and found materials
- Sculptures will be pulled in a wagon, carried, or worn by their makers.
- The event will highlight Alebrijes (bright colorful animal hybrids; Mexican folk-art sculptures) and spirit animals, among other mythological and fantastical creatures
What to bring:
- Bring your completed Fantastical creature!
- Wear comfortable shoes and be ready for sunny weather with your SPF sunscreen, hat, or anything you may need to be comfortable.
- Water bottle to stay hydrated!

Parking is available at the parking garages, but make sure to show up early! Parking gets full early because of the WPB GreenMarket.

Event Schedule:
Saturday, October 26, 2024 | 10:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
- 9:00 a.m. – Meet up at City Hall Courtyard and sign-in for instructions
- 9:30 a.m. – Staging - participants and sculptures will be lined up in order, and prepare to walk
- 10:00 a.m. – The Fantastical Walk commences
- 10:30 a.m. – The Fantastical Walk ends at the Great Lawn
- 10:30 – 12:30 p.m. – Convene at The Fantastical Walk pop-up tent at the WPB GreenMarket Tent. Mingle, take photos, and showcase your work.
This community event aims to celebrate the diverse creative spirit of the community, while highlighting the importance of sustainability.

Quick Notes:
Check in by 9:00 am at City Hall Courtyard for instructions.
Procession begins at 10:00 am.
All approved sculptures will be staged at City Hall Courtyard - the starting point.
The procession will end at the Great Lawn.
The Fantastical Walk will convene at a pop-up tent at the WPB GreenMarket for photos.
The public will be encouraged to come up to the tent and vote for their favorite!
