It's the one year anniversary of WTJU Rock's Third Rail music series and we are thrilled to celebrate it with The Falsies! No tickets are required, but donations to the band are encouraged. You can also listen live on 91.1 FM, stream via wtju.net, and video stream on WTJU’s Facebook and YouTube channels. Third Rail is supported by Hello Goodbye Records in downtown Charlottesville.
The Falsies are a legendary Charlottesville theatrical punk band, and we can't say it better than this:
“It’s hard to decide what deserves your attention at a Falsies concert. Is it the music? The musicians themselves, constantly swapping guitars for saxophones, for drums, for keyboards? Or is it band founder Lance Brenner in his yellow chicken suit, gesticulating wildly... Is it the song lyrics? The answer is all of the above.” -Erin O'Hare, Cville Weekly
“Nothing less than a non-religious solution to the problem of evil. They’re that important to humanity.” -Danny Shea, Red Light Management
“The Falsies are quite the musical circus and could be someone’s strange ethereal dream or someone else’s existential nightmare. The entire band ended the show writhing in an orgasmic pile onstage. I can say this was perhaps one of the strangest shows I have seen to date.” -Robert Farley, Jam Band Purist
"If you've never seen The Falsies you are in for a show you won't soon forget. Part theatrical punk, part absurdist-glam, circus camp/funk metal. They have the ability to put a smile on your face, especially when they say F*** Y**!" -SK8 Nelson
"The Falsies are obviously a band with a sense of humor but this Charlottesville based group also put a lot of care into their songwriting. The album has echoes of pre-Beatles rock and roll, the Velvet Underground, Sonic Youth and the Cramps but manages to be very original in a deliciously low-fi way." -Chris Connelly, OnTap, Washington D.C.
Join us for this delightfully entertaining evening!
