Back for 2025! The Fairy tale of Newquay on Saturday 13th December, now with a brand new distance!A Festive Ultra Marathon, Long Half and all new 8 mile course along the North Coast of Cornwall starting & finishing on Porth Beach in Newquay!
Introducing 'The Pisky' - a fun bit mischievous 8 Mile out and back from Newquay to Mawgan Porth and back, starting at 10am!
Ultra - 8am.
Long Half - 10am ( Harlyn start).
The Pisky - 10am.
All runners will register at the Mermaid Inn in Newquay, Ultra runners will start on Porth Beach, the long half runners will be bused over to the start point at Harlyn Bay. Ultra and Long Half Runners will be issued a GPS tracker with a live link to the route along with a map at race registration. Pisky runners will start on Porth Beach and run to the turnaround poiny at Porth before returning to Newquay.
A kit check will also take place here too. There will be a checkpoints at key points laden with fluid & salt / sugar snacks.
All Long Half & Ultra runners must carry the following essential items:
A fully charged mobile phone with charger, issued GPS tracker & map
Headtorch with spare battery
Spare warm clothing in a waterproof bag (hat/leggings/gloves/top)
A hi-vis top or reflective strips-clothing
Small first aid kit
Nutrition
Compass (phone app acceptable)
Whistle
Minimum 800ml fluid.
Plus! A festive ornament of your choosing!
'Pisky' runners must carry fluid and a fully charged mobile phone.
All runners will receive a Fairy tale of Newquay medal & there will be awards for the top finishers! Runners have 10 hours to complete the marathon, 6 hours to complete the half and 3 hours to complete The Pisky.
This event is supporting the Newquay Coastguard Association, with a optional donation available to make upon entry.
