Mike Noland, President of the South Shore Line, the nation’s last interurban railroad, will discuss the historical investment being made to the 117 year old system.Nearing completion of $2B of capital investment into the railroad’s infrastructure, including 18 miles of new double-track territory on the main line and an 8-mile extension from North Hammond to the Munster/Dyer border, to be known as the Monon Corridor, this presentation will outline the various elements of this historic investment, the operational improvements they will deliver, and the return on investment expected by the State of Indiana from these projects.
